  • 1. Finance

    difference between money available and money needed a shortfall between the funds available and the funds needed for a project. For example, a company planning expansion is able to finance some of this activity from internally generated cash and some from existing finance agreements but any shortfall requires the raising of new funds.

    funding shortfall from canceling poorer countries' debts a gap in funding for institutions such as the International Monetary Fund caused by canceling the debts of poorer countries such as those in West Africa
