Robert P. Hartwig
Robert P. Hartwig is president of the Insurance Information Institute, where for the last 11 years he has focused on improving the understanding of key insurance issues across all industry stakeholders. He previously served as director of economic research and senior economist with the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI). He has also worked as senior economist for the Swiss Reinsurance Group and as senior statistician for the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. Dr Hartwig is a published author and is frequently quoted in leading publications such as the Wall Street Journal and The Economist. He has a PhD and MSc in economics from the University of Illinois and a BA in economics cum laude from the University of Massachusetts.
